From boxing
to volunteering.
We all face challenges, and being part of something like Transforming Lives reminds me that I’m not alone.”
~ Lauren

Finding Connection and Challenging Stigma.
Originally from Glasgow and now working in Bolton, Lauren has lived with anxiety since her mid-20s. For her, exercise has always been a vital tool to manage her mental, physical, and emotional health. So, when she found herself at one of Transforming Lives boxing sessions, it felt like home. The organisation’s focus on community, support, and shared understanding of life’s challenges deeply resonated with her.
Transforming Lives is not just for those in recovery—it’s for anyone seeking help, purpose, and a sense of belonging. Life challenges us all, and everyone struggles at times, no matter their background. What sets Transforming Lives apart is its inclusive, non-judgmental environment, where real people come together to support one another.
Lauren now volunteers with Transforming Lives, helping when she can at events or behind-the-scenes tasks. She believes the organisation provides a space for people to find support—and she’s experienced that support first hand.
Lauren’s experience shows that you don’t need to “look” or “sound” a certain way to belong. Transforming Lives is for everyone.
“We all face challenges, and being part of something like Transforming Lives reminds me that I’m not alone.”
Transforming Lives isn’t just a name or a slogan – it’s what the organisation does. It’s a community of real people, no judgment, no stigma, just support through life’s challenges.”
